So the development team and I have been judging for the past few days. I know many of you are anxious about what’s happening, so I wanted to share a bit about what’s going on behind the scenes.

We’ve collectively probably gone through all of the entries at this point, but each of us are trying to get through all 2716 of them personally. I didn’t know what to expect really, but now that I’m through a bulk of them, I have to say I’m very impressed. My single biggest worry for the success of this event was the quality of submissions, and at this point, it’s becoming clear I shouldn’t have worried. The 24 finalists are going to be an amazing group of ideas and going through nearly three thousand entries is turning out to be much more bearable than I thought it would be.
(Note: The image in this post is a screenshot from our judging app, coded up for this weekend by Jason. And those 6 definite finalists were the result of a six hour group chat. Yeah, we have a long ways to go.)
Thanks for that to everyone who entered, and sit tight… Just two days left before we begin to announce the finalists!
