“Echo-co-co-co!”

Well. It’s certainly been a while. The dust has settled. It’s quiet in here… but the smell, the smell brings back a lot of memories. If anyone’s still out there, I just want to ensure that the health of the “Codename: Hijack” project is still alive and kicking.

In fact, over at Hijackapp.com, I’ve announced that a new name has been chosen for the app, but is yet to be revealed to the public at large. Rest assured, it’s pretty darn good, and I feel almost as good about the new name, as I did for “Hijack”.

Expect some real movement over the summer months, and give Stephen Deken some encouragement… he’s been doing a bang up job so far. But now the time comes for me to start getting my hands dirty again. This ain’t a game no more…

Well, here’s the news we’ve all been waiting for…

Hijack is going to be developed by a small team of professionals. Who’s involved, you ask? Let’s all welcome Stephen Deken, who has proven himself eager and competent enough to spearhead the development side of things. What about me? Well, I will be taking on a sort of director’s roll within the project and oversee the development. Perhaps even contributing my design skills. There are still a lot of details to iron out, but this gist is it’s going into full swing, and with a little help of some friends, we will all watch as Hijack becomes a reality.

I couldn’t be more thrilled, and I hope all of you continue stay tuned and offer your extremely valuable input. I will continue to update this blog regularly with recent developments.

Any questions? ;)

Hey all. It’s been quiet. But I just want to assure everyone that I’m still around. Lately I’ve been extremely busy, so I haven’t had much time to post or spend much time here. I hope to jump back in soon.

I hope everyone is doing fine, and I’ll hopefully have some news soon!

thanks.

First off, I’m blown away by you guys. And so is everyone else at the MDA crew. My special thanks to Stephen Deken, for getting this up and running. But, really, it’s a very warming thing to see everyone pulling so much together so fast. Its awesome being part of a community full of smart, talented, dedicated people willing to sacrifice so much of their time for this.

That said, there’s still a good possibility for (code name) Hijack being picked up for development by some heavy hitters. Nothing concrete yet, but still, it’s there, and I don’t want to see you guys get majorly bummed if the plug has to be pulled on the open source thing.

I still want to encourage you guys to keep it up. I can’t say how long it’s gonna be until a final decision is made. My hope, is that if it is going to be picked up, there’d still be a level of community participation… but I really can’t say. So, hang in there all… let’s reign all this activity within this board, just to keep everyone on the same page, and I’ll keep you posted about developments and decisions!

You guys make me proud.

Hey all. MDA brought to my attention this morning, that there was someone, that I know personally, who was gaming the vote system. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say this. And I realize this puts my integrity on the line. For what it’s worth, I want to go on record, that I never condoned any such action or behavior, I did not know it was even going on during this round. Not only do I feel horrible, but so does this person, and it is our relationship that I value over anything else. That is why I’m going to decline any prizes being offered (i.e. the Mac Mini, Office Suite, and the Tshirt). It’s the only thing I know how to do at this point to help restore the trust from everyone here: the community, the Hijack fans, my fellow contestants, and of course, all the fantastic people at MDA. I apologize to everyone above for any direct or indirect anguish this may have caused.

Thank you,
Kevin Capizzi
