Staff

If you've liked what we've produced with My Dream App, you can find out a bit about each staff member here. See what we've done in the past, and what's going on for each of us in addition to this collaboration.

Phillip Ryu, My Dream App Creator

My Dream App creator and host Phill Ryu is a Mac entrepreneur, with GUI-enthusiast site MacThemes and software company Widget Machine under his belt. My Dream App is a culmination of years of networking in the community and will hopefully result in some insanely great software products. You can read about his projects (and possibly even get some insider info on the event) on his blog, at PhillRyu.com.

John Casasanta, Application Development Manager

John Casasanta is the founder and chief of Inventive, maker of the popular utility, iClip. John feels that solid design is one of the most important things in creating successful apps. In his 15+ year career as a Mac developer he’s managed to rack up two Apple Design Awards and he’s hoping to land more by heading up the development teams for My Dream App.

Jason Harris, Developer Judge

Jason Harris has been coding up spiffiness and silliness for about ten years, working on such diverse projects as a solid-state quantum computing simulator for electron waves in GaAs semiconductors and a Monte Carlo simulator for electron transport in nanostructure devices. He also wrote insane, down-to-the-metal microcontroller assembly language code for Octofungi, a robotic sculpture. In the Mac world, he's the primary author of ShapeShifter, Mighty Mouse, ThemePark, and heads the open-source Chicken of the VNC and Paranoid Android projects. He digs mountain biking, skateboarding, art, martinis, loud music, and creating oddly euphonious phrases. He never wears shoes if he can help it and can dance like a mofo!

Austin Sarner, Developer Judge

Austin Sarner has been developing in Cocoa for a while now and making Mac apps for even longer. His most notable contribution to the Mac shareware scene has been AppZapper, although he has also worked on a number of other freeware and shareware projects. When not coding, Austin meticulously juggles his time between his other passions: Ukranian Nationalist folk music and keeping his hair straight.

Martin Ott, Developer Judge

Martin Ott is a Mac software developer who co-founded TheCodingMonkeys, a company determined to produce software that stands up to the Macintosh ease-of-use while solving complex problems. With the release of SubEthaEdit 1.0, his company revolutionized real-time text collaboration. He commits his experience and passion to My Dream App to make your dream come true. Find out more about him on his blog here.

Scott Meinzer, Web Programmer

Scott Meinzer is an up-and-coming web coder with Ajax-pushing Mac promotional site MacGrab under his belt, as well as Mac widget vendor WidgetMachine. Scott has also contributed code to the popular tech news website Digg and works for random people, fulfilling the needs of people with dreams everywhere. He has an affinity for Lost and almost every movie ever made. And he will get his personal site off the ground...some day.

David Lanham, My Dream App Designer

Iconfactory’s David Lanham has been drawing since he could hold a pencil. Over the past several years, he has deployed his talent towards a career in digital illustration. From time to time, he has collaborated on online projects, bringing a unique feel to many websites and graphics. When he is not working, you can still find him drawing strange and fun creatures that he hopes to bring to life one day in toy form.

Blake Burris, Podcast Host

Iconoclast and Mac maven, Blake Burris has long trolled the Mac world since studying BASIC on an Apple III. While never becoming a dedicated developer, he is active in the Mac community. Blake currently produces the popular CocoaRadio podcast which serves an audience of thousands worldwide. As a promoter of the un-conference movement, BarCamp, Blake founded CocoaDevHouse, a dawn-to-dusk event of Mac hackerati in Dallas, D.C., Amsterdam, Munich and London; with active planning elsewhere.

Chiraag Mundhe, Chief Strategist

Chiraag Mundhe is a media enthusiast who lends his broad-based online skill set and strong background in journalism to My Dream App. A sophomore at Dartmouth College, Chiraag has recently made forays into the Web 2.0 marketing arena. He is a self-described bon vivant and patiently awaits the release of Stephen Colbert’s World of Colbertcraft.
